Moonlight Nectar is a scarce camp currency in Mistfall Hunter: it refines into Star Silver, which funds the long Watchtower upgrade chain. There is no reliable farm for it — but there are four confirmed sources, including a free batch from the 1-million-player event.

Claim the event mail. If the 1M-player Wave 3 reward (5 Moonlight Nectar) is still active, open your in-game mailbox and claim it before the deadline.
Open Task → Journey Overview and check which milestone is closest. Journey rewards are the main repeatable free source.
Work the Season 1 pass. Redeem the two Nectar nodes on the free track; they don't require premium currency.

What Moonlight Nectar is for

The entire purpose of Nectar is the camp progression chain. In lore, it's "a rare nectar of the three realms that no Woodling can resist — used to trade with them for ore" (GamerGuides). In gameplay, that means:

Take Nectar to the goddess statue at camp and ask Ashe to refine it into Star Silver.
At the Curio Shop, spend 7,200 Star Silver on the Starsilver Spindle.
Use the Spindle to upgrade the Watchtower landmark (near Cazarro's shop) — each tier unlocks the next Watchtower level plus legendary emote rewards.
